ASCII to PNG

Already have text art? Paste it here and make an image for a message, slide or README where text spacing will not survive.

Your existing characters, not a new FIGlet font or an image-to-ASCII conversion. No account needed.

Leave without saving your work?

Your input and artwork are not saved. Keep editing, or download the current result and check it before leaving.

Spaces and blank rows stay in place. Up to 20,000 characters, 200 rows and 240 columns. Printable ASCII only; no tabs, Unicode or ANSI colors.

PNG preview

Render to create a PNG. This text specimen is not yet an image.

Full-size preview; scroll to inspect edges. PNG and preview are the same file. No wrapping, trimming or added final row. Font shapes vary by device.

Try a small text diagram

The initial specimen is this three-row, 19-column diagram. At 16 px monospace with 24 px padding and a white background, choose Render PNG. Inspect all four edges in the full-size preview, then download. Pixel dimensions are reported after measurement; they depend on your device's monospace font.

Choose Black for white characters on black, or increase the font size for a larger image. Padding adds empty space outside the artwork. Leading and trailing spaces, blank rows and a final line break are retained. Text is not wrapped, trimmed or reinterpreted as HTML.

Keep a text alternative

A PNG preserves the rendered layout, not selectable or screen-reader-readable text. Save input TXT too, and add a meaningful description wherever you share the image. For the sample: a box surrounds the words “text to PNG” and a right-pointing arrow.

This focused tool accepts printable ASCII and LF line breaks only: no tabs, Unicode, emoji or terminal color codes. Tabs must be replaced with deliberate spaces. Pasting from Windows normally converts CRLF to LF in the text field. The maximum is 20,000 characters, 200 rows and 240 characters per row; PNGs also have an 8,192-pixel-side and 16-megapixel limit. Reduce size or text if rendering exceeds it. Nothing is silently clipped to meet these limits.

The image uses opaque black and white with at least 1.2 line spacing. It does not reproduce ANSI colors, choose a custom font, highlight code or upload files. To generate new banner lettering, use the ASCII text generator. To convert a photo first, use image to ASCII. For README project outlines, try the directory tree generator.

Rendering stays in your browser. This tool does not save your text or put it in links; export before leaving. Site analytics, storage and hosting are separate.
