1. Enter Text
Character coverage depends on the FIGlet font. Unsupported or blank glyphs stop generation with a local, font-specific warning, including in all-font previews. Edit your text or explicitly choose another font; no characters are silently removed or transliterated. Supported accents are preserved. Input is limited to 4,096 UTF-16 units and each font result to 200,000 output characters. Long text can count as more than one unit per visible symbol.
2. Choose Font
Choose a quick-access font or open Show All Fonts to search or page through the bundled FIGlet library. The preview updates after a short pause; larger text can take longer. Check for missing characters.
3. Customize Layout
Open Advanced text layout for Horizontal Layout and Vertical Layout, which choose FIGlet spacing and smushing rules. There is no separate character-spacing slider. Max Width sets the wrapping target. The defaults are Standard font, both layouts Default, and width 80.
4. Export
Copy the generated text, download TXT or export PNG. Clipboard permissions and PNG size limits apply; preview in the destination before sharing.

What is an ASCII text generator?
A FIGlet font defines multi-line character patterns. The text generator joins patterns for the characters that the selected font supports into a banner. Some fonts use Unicode output rather than only printable ASCII.
How many fonts are available?
Use Font for the quick-access selection. Show All Fonts opens a searchable font list; choosing a name updates the single preview. The catalog shows up to 20 names at a time; use Previous catalog page and Next catalog page or search to reach every font. Preview All Fonts separately renders your current input in up to 20 fonts per page. Use Previous and Next to compare another preview page, or Exit Preview All to return to one font. The eight-font text examples gallery is a separate selection with editable sample inputs, not the full catalog.
Can I use the generated ASCII text for free?
The generator is free to use without an account. Conversion does not grant rights to the source material. Use images and text you have permission to reproduce, check applicable font or artwork licenses, and respect trademarks. Commercial use may require additional permission.
How do I save my ASCII text art?
After generation, copy the text, download TXT or export PNG. Browser clipboard permissions and PNG size limits apply.
