3D to ASCII Art
Rotate a shape made of characters. Start with a built-in model, bring your own, extrude a short word or explore a mathematical surface.

Copy and TXT contain plain text. PNG and HTML keep the current colors and canvas background.

Freeze a frame to select its text without changing your source.

2–32 printable ASCII characters. Spaces count.
From 3D geometry to a text frame
The editor lights a real 3D mesh, samples the rendered view and replaces its pixels with characters. Rotate or move the light to reveal different faces. More columns give finer detail; a sparse-to-dense character ramp controls shading.
Upload one local STL, geometry-only OBJ or self-contained, untextured GLB 2.0 file, up to 10 MiB and 100,000 triangles. Export textured, animated, compressed or externally linked models as a static mesh first. Separate GLTF files and their companion resources are not supported. Imported colors and materials are replaced with the editor's own blue material.
Copy and TXT preserve characters and spacing, not colors. PNG and standalone HTML preserve the colored frame and its canvas background. Each export pauses auto-spin; these are still frames, not animated downloads. Paste text into a monospace code block to keep its shape.
Selected models, formulas and text are processed in this browser and are not saved for recovery. Site resources and analytics still make network requests; see data handling. Upload only models you have permission to use.
For a flat photo or logo, use Image to ASCII. For a flat text banner with more font choices, use Text to ASCII.
